Competition:
Carolina Carriage is the exclusive dealer of Club Car & Yamaha Golf Carts to the greater Pinehurst area (aka The Sandhills). There is only one other dealer in the local market and they represent the E-Z-GO Brand. Carolina Carriage is also the sole dealership representing the Club Car industrial line of carts – XRT Series, which is a notable point as many Club Car dealerships are not authorized to sell this product line. Carolina Carriage has a dominant position and competitive advantage in the market for all rental carts and has the largest rental fleet in the area. Last but not least, Carolina Carriage is the only dealership that has agreements to maintain and provide warranty service to a variety of the Club/Resort Golf Cart Fleets. Potential Growth:
Pinehurst is known around the world as “Home of American Golf” and this reputation for world class golf coupled with the areas mild climate, low cost of living, cultural activities, and proximity to both the coast and mountains, not to mention major cities – Charlotte & Raleigh have been the catalyst for major growth plans. Florida-based Stonehill Capital Group purchased 1,500 acres in March of 2009 for development of a ~1,000 home master-planned resort community in neighboring Foxfire Village. This community will include two Jack Nicklaus-designed signature courses and a Ritz-Carlton hotel complete with spa and conference center. Oceanico Group, and international golf developer out of Portugal recently purchased the Little River Golf Resort and has made Pinehurst their US headquarters office.
